TAXI from NEWARK AIRPORT (EWR) - Flat rate $40 to $45 + toll ($4.00) + tip (suggested tip $5.00). Follow signs to Taxi Stand. Ask the driver what the charge is to Manhattan (Greenwich Village). Estimated time less than 1 hour.

TAXI from KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (JFK) - Flat $47 charge + toll ($4.50 paid when you go through the tollbooth) + tip (suggested tip $5.00). Follow signs to Taxi Stand. Tell driver "Flat Rate". Estimated time about 45 min, longer during rush hour.

New York is well served by subways and city buses. Buy the MetroCard, the easiest way to pay subway and city bus fares ($2.00 per ride); it provides free transfers between subways and buses (and vice versa). MetroCards can be purchased from vending machines or token clerks in subway stations and at various above-ground locations. Buy a 10-ride MetroCard and get one ride free! Without a MetroCard you'll need exact change in coins to ride a city bus.

Remember to reconfirm your reservations with the car service on the day of your arrival. Tell your driver to take you to Bleecker and West 11th Street. You may get out of the car there. We are located very near that corner, on the south side of Eleventh Street. If you say the actual street address it may confuse the driver as people here normally tell them the cross streets, not the address.

The easiest, safest, and most convenient way to arrive at 278 West 11th Street from the airports is by taxi or private car service. If you are thinking of using public transportation for arrival from an airport, remember that taxi prices are per car, while all other forms of transportation are priced per person. Also, carrying luggage may be difficult on public transportation and it is possible for people to become lost or be delayed.

If coming by taxi from either Penn Station NYC or Grand Central Station, tell the cab driver to take 9th Ave. south and continue into Bleecker Street. Take a left turn into Perry Street, another left turn into West 4th Street and final left turn into West 11th Street to find 278 West 11th Street on left side of the street. When you get to 278 West 11th Street, ring bell #1.
